Minister Barbour accepted Jesus Christ as personal Savior in 1979. He was delivered from a lifestyle of disgrace and will boldly declare, "I am what I am by the Grace of God." In 1980 he surrendered his life to the glory of God and was called to preach and later to pastor the Expectation Bible Baptist Church in Suitland, MD.
His passion for calling men to "Man the Gap" for Christ, has given him opportunity to reach out to men in prisons, shelters, recovery programs and churches.
For over thirty years, Pastor Barbour has pursued his passion for seeing men stand strong and carry out their God-ordained mission to make an impact for Jesus by standing in the gap. The GAP is our place between our God who gave His Son Jesus and those who need to know Him personally.
Men In The Gap Fellowship & Outreach!
Man In The Gap was established in 2005 out of a passion of Pastor Lawrence Barbour. It's first fellowship was held at the Expectation Bible Baptist. It is a Non Denominational collaboration of Churches bringing men together for encouragement, empowerment and street evangelism. Its mission is to bring fellowship and resources to churches seeking to disciple their men and build an effective men's ministry. Man in the Gap fellowship welcomes all men who want to grow and live for Jesus Christ.
